Hanel, a Division of Driv-Lok, is proud to offer a comprehensive CNC Manufacturing Apprenticeship Program In partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and the Wisconsin Technical College System, the following career has been approved for a state registered Apprenticeship program – CNC MACHINIST APPRENTICE. This program was designed to provide aspiring individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the field of precision machining. Our program covers 8,320 hours of coursework and on-the-job training, fully supported by our expert workforce at Hanel.


  1. Machine Operation: Gain hands-on experience in operating a variety of machines used in precision manufacturing processes.
  2. CNC Machine Set-up: Learn the intricacies of setting up CNC machines for optimal performance and efficiency.
  3. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T): Understand the principles of GD&T to ensure precision and accuracy in machining operations.
  4. Programming CNC Machines: Acquire proficiency in programming CNC machines to execute complex machining tasks.
  5. Performing Layout: Master the techniques of laying out workpieces and planning machining processes for optimal results.
  6. Examining and Modifying Metals and Materials: Learn to evaluate and modify metals and materials to meet specific requirements and standards.
  7. Work Processes: Understand the various work processes involved in CNC manufacturing, from initial design to final inspection.

Throughout your apprenticeship you are considered a full-time employee with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, company paid life insurance, 401K, holidays, and vacation. Salary is based on hours worked and provides pay increases for every 1,040 hours worked. At the conclusion of your apprenticeship, you will receive a national, portable credential in your trade from the Department of Labor.
